Lurcher Judges Announced

The invited Lurcher Judges announced

The Invited Lurcher Judges at the Welsh for 2010 are Mr Pete Bogris from Hampshire and Mr Barry Sharp from West Wales. Mr Bogris has kept lurchers all his life and initially kennelled Bedlington/Greyhounds which he obtained firstly from George Kelly. He kept this type for many years which suited his favoured sport of lamping. He developed an interest in Greyhounds during his formative years and having obtained a bitch from Ireland began coursing. He subsequently bred his own greyhounds and obtained a fair degree of success in the coursing field. He currently kennels around half a dozen lurchers, and has even travelled to New Zealand to hunt with lurchers.

Mr Bogris brings a wealth of experience to the judging ring at The Welsh, and will cast his eyes over the Over 23”

Mr Barry Sharp is well known within the world of lurchers, and is hugely experienced as a judge. Mr Sharp currently kennels no more than four or five dogs, and although his name is probably synonymous with the Collie/cross.

Lurcher, he has kept and worked many different types. He has produced some top class lamping lurchers as well as dogs that were outstanding daylight workers. He has in addition trained working sheepdogs.

The Lurcher Show at the Welsh is held on Sunday 20th June 2010 with a 12 noon start.
