Terrier Judges Announced
The invited Terrier Judges announced
TWO native Welshmen are the invited Terrier judges for the Welsh in 2010, namely Mr Gordon Mason who now resides in the Vale of Oxfordshire and Mr Lyn Harber from Six Bells, Abertillery. Gordon Mason who originates from Ferndale in the Rhondda Valley, South Wales, has had Terriers since he was a young lad. He originally did quite a bit of freelance work before assisting at the Cwrt-y-Cadno Hunt in West Wales, followed by doing the terrier work for the neighbouring Rhydcymerau Hunt for many years.
During this period he travelled to twice a week to West Wales from his place of abode in the Rhondda Valley. In 2000 he moved to the Old Barks. He keeps his own strain of black, coloured, smooth coated Terriers, and only breeds when he needs young stock for his own use. He currently kennels around a dozen Terriers. Although he has in the past judged extensively, he does not currently officiate at many shows, and considered it a honour and a privilege to return to Wales to judge the Welsh Game Fair.
Gordon Mason will judge the coloured classes.
Lyn Harber has been a professional pest controller for the past 20 years, and has kept and worked terriers for over 30 years. He has hunted and followed hounds all his life and has also judged extensively including shows in America and South Africa. He kennels around half a dozen terriers at any one time and he will judge the Russells. Again he is delighted to be invited to judge the Welsh Game Fair.
The Terrier show takes place on Sunday 20 June at 12.30pm. For further details please ring 01633 633863.
